Thanksgiving Weekend

Well, I finally need to make a new posting. I haven't been really bad and want to get back into the swing of things. I thought that I would tell you a little about our Thanksgiving holidays.

We went to Chris and Stan's on Thanksgiving day for dinner. We had a great time, although I had some stomach issues and didn't really enjoy dinner all that much, not that the food wasn't good, but you know. Actually Addie missed dinner because when we sat down, she became "Baddison" so she went to bed. We tried to feed her once she got up, but everyone was eating dessert so she just had a little food and a lot of dessert. :) We left around 8:30, which was good since I had to get everything together for the next day since Chris and I had to leave at 10:30 to go shopping (more in the next post).

The next morning we left for Fort Wayne around 9 a.m. and we made awesome timing since 30 is now open up the entire way, believe that was a long time in the coming. We got home around 12:30 and had some Chili for lunch, I will have to say that my Dad does make a good pot of Chili. Then Addie, Ryan and I took a nap. I had stayed up the night before shopping and Ryan and Addie were up and down all night, maybe Addie realized her Mommy wasn't there. Once we got up, we went to Grandma's Nursing home to see her and she was still eating dinner, the woman at her table was totally drinking her ensure and her coffee. Oh well! Then we went over to Aunt Gladys to see her. Bill, Arlene, Anna, and Eric were there so we visited for an hour or so. That was nice to see them, I don't think I have seen them since our wedding. We ordered Casa's on the way home for Mere, Dad, and Ryan. and we stopped at King Gyro's to pick up dinner for Mike and me. A Gyro and a small greek salad, there's not a better dinner out there. It was so good. :)

On Saturday, we got up and of course went to the Coffee Shop to grab a coffee, then we went Wedding Dress Shopping. Ryan and Addie went over and did some christmas shopping at Kohl's. Mere tried on about 8 dresses and picked out her top choice. It is absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to see it on her for real. She also got a awesome veil and headpiece. I tried on a couple of dresses, but we are going to wait until Christmas to go back and try on more. When we got home, we cooked up the rest of the food and had Thanksgiving dinner around 4. Here's a picture I got of Cici and Addie right after dinner.

After dinner, everyone went to go pick up the christmas tree and Ryan and I stayed home and finished cleaning up. Then we just hung out and watched Follow that Bird. We put Addie to bed around 8 and decided we were going to go the movies. We got there and the movie that we were going to go see was sold out. So we just walked around the mall and hung out at Barnes and Nobles looking at books. We then went home, had a snack and then went to bed.

We got up on Sunday and putzed around the house. We were downstairs packing the car and my mom brought down Addison looking like this.

She decided that she loved putting these on and taking them off. After I pried them away from her, we went to the coffee shop and then headed home. We listened to half of the Browns game on the radio. We also stopped at the Goasis and my mom was right, it was awesome. When we got home, we watched the third quarter and then decided that we needed to rake the leaves. It took about 2 hours, but we got them all done. We then finally watched the rest of the Browns game and they won. WOOHOO! It was a busy weekend but it was nice to spend it with family!

Precious

Isn't this the face of an angel. I absolutely love this picture. We took it a few weeks ago (10/26) when my grandparents were in town and I finally got it downloaded from my camera to the computer.

Past two weekends....

Last weekend (November 3-4), we had Dana and Paul over for dinner on Friday. Then on Saturday, Dana babysat for us, so that we could go to the Night at the Races. We had a ton of fun and won a little bit of money. The craziest thing was hat we won the auction horse for the second time, unfortunately we didn't win the actual race. But it's still a lot of fun to have one of the horses in the final race and only have to pay $5. Chrissy and Ryan had a ton to drink, but they had a good time. After we left the school, we went to Chelsea's for another drink. We didn't get back home until after 1 a.m. but it was really only 12 with the time change. :) On Sunday, we had tickets to the Seahawks/Browns game, like I said in the previous post it was an awesome game and we stayed till the very end.

This weekend (November 10-11), Friday night we went to Chrissy and Stan's and had pizza. This is a winter tradition. On Saturday, Ryan had to work and I had a migraine, so I laid down when Addie laid down, and didn't answer the phone, I had Ryan freaking out. I went to church at 5 and then the boys came over so that Chrissy and Stan could go out to dinner. We watched Superman 3 and it was really really good. On Sunday, Dana and I went to Columbus for Joan's baby shower. It was a nice trip down and it was fun to catch up. Ryan worked on finishing the painting in the bedroom and then when Dana and I got home, the four of us went to dinner at Applebees. When we got home, Ryan had to finish the bedroom. It was a long day. The Browns lost to the Steelers, Ryan said that they played pretty good. But they couldn't get it done in the end.

Ryan is off on vacation all week! Tomorrow is his birthday, so I think we are going to go and have Frankie's pizza up in Cleveland, since it's his favorite. I need to lose some weight this week so that I can get to my 10% before Thanksgiving.

We have a Walker.....

Well, Miss Addison has decided that she is finally going to walk. This is actually a few weeks overdue. She started walking on November 2, officially. This was the first time that she walked between two people more than two or three steps. She was walking between me and Dana and there was 6 or 7 feet in between us. She is beginning to become a little more adventurous. Now, instead of dropping and crawling, she will walk in between things, it's just a matter of time before she takes off for good. I mean she will be fifteen months old on Thursday. She really should start walking.

Let's Go Browns....

We went to the Browns/Seahawks game last night and it was AWESOME! I can't wait to see what they can continue to do.

Here's a picture of us before we left for the game!

Halloween 2007

We had all of our Halloween festivities on Saturday. It's always a ton of fun. The fun started with going to the Cuyahoga Falls Annual Halloween Party. Addie was entered in the costume contest and she didn't win, she didn't even place. I am biased, but I do think that her costume was on of the better ones. Oh well, there is always next year. We then went to the Tofils for the annual pumpkin carving event. My mom who came up for the weekend even got into the fun. I will have to post pictures. Then we went out for Trick or Treating and it was miserable. It was raining and cold. We only went down the block, but we were all soaked when we got home. We then went back and had homemade pizza and sloppy joes. Ryan is such a good cook. I wonder sometimes how I got so lucky! :) Overall, our Halloween was a ton of fun!

On an unrelated note, Addie is getting much more adventurous. She is taking a few steps in between things. She also climbs up on her rocking chair. I am sure the bumps and bruises are in our near future.

Ryan's Early Birthday

Well, my spoiled husband got his birthday present a little early this year. Why? Because he bugs me and bugs me until he gets his way every time. I bought him (and me too) a 32" LCD flat screen TV for our bedroom. It's really nice. We even spent a few hours on Sunday rearranging our bedroom. It's a lot different, but it seems a ton bigger. I can't yet get used to sleeping on the other side of the bed, I almost fell out last night. But, hopefully that won't happen tonight!

First visit to the ER......let's make it the last!

Well, after Addie got up around 11, she had some breakfast and we were in the family room hanging out, Addie was playing around, quarantined into the family room. I went over to pick her up and she had yellow powder all over her mouth and inside her mouth. Well, I start freaking out. I couldn't find anything that she had gotten into. So, I called Ryan, it looked just like goldenrod looks when you touch it. I thought about Ryan's vitamin that he takes and wondering if that would hurt her. Then she threw up a little bit and it was bright yellow. So now, I am getting really nervous. I start thinking harder and realize that my Grandpa takes a yellow pill that he keeps in his pocket. He probably was grabbing something out and one of his pills fell out and onto the floor, only someone crawling around would be able to find. So, once I tell Ryan about this, he says that I need to take her to the Emergency Room. So he called Chris and she rushed over. I got everything situated and we went to Children's ER. We got there and Chris had to call Ryan to find out what the name of the medication was. The Children's ER was awesome. They got us into a room within 20 minutes of us getting there. I had no idea what to expect. They hooked her up to monitors and then the Doctor came in. He said they were going to take her blood to check for Tylenol levels, Aspirin levels, and her electrolytes. Let me just tell you that my heart was breaking when they were taking her blood, she was sobbing. It brought tears to my eyes, so I started singing to her so that she would calm down. When they got done with drawing the blood, I asked them to have Chris come in so that I could call Ryan. I called Ryan and had a mini meltdown. When I went back in, they were finishing up the EKG. So I missed that part, we hung out. The doctor's called poison control and they agreed with how they were handling this particular medication. They got the results back and didn't find anything off with her levels....Thank God! They didn't find any of the medication in her blood, so maybe she spit it out and one of the dogs took it. Who knows! They let us go after three hours of observation. I was just glad that Ryan got to come down, it was good seeing him. I needed him there.

It was the scariest moment that I have had in a long time. I am just glad that she is OK. I got up every few hours that night to check on her. She's my precious princess and I didn't want her hurting.

Grandparents Visit...

My Grandpa Paul and Grandma Barbara made a quick visit to us for a day or so. It was really nice and were glad to see them again. We went to dinner at Olive Garden on Thursday night and then went home and watched the Indians lose. Then got up first thing on Friday morning, we hung out at home while Ryan went to his interview at South Pointe Hospital. Ryan made us breakfast before he left, what a good guy. When he got back from his interview, we went to Longhorn for lunch and it was super yummy.....There was a stuffed cow above our table and Addie kept saying "Goggie". Everything in the world is a Goggie now. Then we went to Wal-Mart and bought some goodies and then back home. We put Addie down for a nap and played some cards. Barbara and I beat my Grandpa and Ryan. It was fun. They turned in early since they were leaving so early on Saturday morning. So Ryan and I stayed up and got caught up on some TV.

They got up and left around 7 a.m. Ryan and I went back to bed. And little miss didn't get up until 11 a.m. So I got to sleep in a little bit.

The leaves are falling...

I came home yesterday to Addie sitting in the leaves and playing in them. Ryan had taken some pictures, so I thought that I would share some of those with you. I hope you enjoy.

Menu

What does the menu of a toddler look like? I am always amazed at what Addison will eat. Here is a picture of her meal the other day. Grilled chicken, baked potato, peas and apple sauce. This is typical, she is such a great eater. I hope she continues to be that way.
Here is picture of little miss participating in her most favorite pasttime, playing in the refrigerator.
Hope everyone is having a good day. My grandparents are coming into town for a quick visit, so I am going to make this short.

New Steps....

Well Addie took her first steps last night, she took two between Ryan and I. Hopefully, the little punk will start walking a little bit more.

She also started clapping, which is something new for her.

Ryan weighed in today and is down 30 lbs.

Well, gotta go home. I hope to update more tomorrow.

Babysitter Woes

So, I am pretty frustrated with my babysitter. I was supposed to work on Thursday so that I could have Friday off since my Grandparents are coming into town to see Addie. Well, I said to Mary yesterday "Hey can you watch her Thursday?, No sorry I have to take Paige to Dr's appointments. How annoying is that? I understand that she needs to take her child to appointments but I had to rearrange my schedule to accommodate her.

I am now working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday this week and then next week have to switch Monday and Tuesday so I can be here for the health fair.

Oh well, what are you going to do. I am looking for someone else who is a bit cheaper. If Ryan gets a new job, we don't want to pay $40 a day for Addie three days a week.

My New Niece

I have a new neice. My sister and soon to be brother-in-law have adopted a 10 month old puppy. It's a mix between a chiuhaha and something else that we can't figure out. Her name is Cici.

Thoughts on School Shootings

Well, with the recent shooting at a Cleveland area high school, I thought I would add my two cents. I think this is the most selfish thing that someone can do. If you are that unhappy with yourself that you want to kill yourself, why go into your school and shoot other people. They will still be affected by your death. I am sure that he was hurting. It just freaks me out.

My mom and sister are teachers, so anytime things like this happen I worry about them.

Halloween Pictures

Well, today we went to JC Penney for Halloween Portraits. I thought that this would be cute. I met Cheryl, Carter, and Connor up there as they were getting their pictures done as well.

The photographer was awful. Usually, they just shoot, she would only take a picture if she was smiling. There was one good picture. The others were awful. Maybe just me, but I really like Jessica and I will make sure she is going to be there the next time we get pictures taken. :)

It was fun hanging out with C, C, and C. Connor is a handful and I now understand why Cheryl didn't want to take them alone.

Well, I am off for now. I need to clean up the house since the housekeeper is coming tomorrow. How ironic is that.

Fall TV

So Ryan and I are a bit TV obsessed, hence we have worn out two DVR's. Here's our Fall TV line up:

Monday:
Dancing with the Stars, I like Helio the best this year. Ready for Wayne Newton to biff.

The Bachelor, I like Hillary and Jenny. Although Ryan likes Dee Dee. I just don't want the slutty girl to win.

Heroes, I got hooked on this show last season and watched it the whole season and Ryan would tell me how stupid I was for watching it. Now, guess who's hooked on Heroes. I just downloaded him an episode guide so he can get caught up on last season and start watching this season.

Tuesday:
The Biggest Loser, I love to see them lose so much weight. My doctor actually told me once that I should go on the show. I like most of them and it's sad to see them go each week, but neat to see them after it's all over.

Dancing with the Stars (Results Show), I usually just fast forward this one to the end. I hate seeing all the recaps.

Law & Order: SVU, This one I just started watching this season, my girlfriend Dana is obsessed with all things Law and Order, so I thought I would start watching it, this is one that I watch myself.

Wednesday:
Kid Nation, This show is crazy, I can't even imagine letting my 8 year old go on this show. I like the fact that they show kids taking care of their own selves. I do not however like how they showed last week, the kids at the "Root" Beer Pub doing shots.

Bionic Woman, I started watching this show because NBC was hyping it so much. It's OK. Ryan doesn't watch it with me and I am not sure if I am into it. I will give it a few more episodes before I set it free.

Private Practice, This is the spin-off to Grey's Anatomy. I can't decide if I like it, I will continue to watch it because it features Addison (my daughter's namesake), I have liked the story lines so far, but I am not sure about the cohesiveness. I just hope that if it doesn't make it, that she will go back to Grey's.

Thursday:
Survivor, The season is based in China. Cool location, I am not into the people too much. The one girl, I swear is anorexic. She could barely cut through one rope, let alone all seven.

Grey's Anatomy, This is by far my favorite show. I have loved it ever since the beginning. I always look forward to the new seasons. I was a little worried about this season though without Burke and Addison. But I think they have done a good job, they need to develop more story lines with the new interns besides Meredith's sister. I love Bailey and hope that they develop her story line a little bit more.

ER, I have also loved this show forever, it goes way over the top with their episodes, but I look forward to seeing this each week.

Friday:
Ghost Whisperer, This season is really dark. It was usually happy stories, but now she's seeing the evil ghosts. Who knows what will happen this season.

NUMB3RS, This show was one of Ryan's finds, we started watching the first season and have continued to enjoy it. I am glad that Colby Granger wasn't a bad guy.

Women's Murder Club, This one starts this week, I am looking forward to it since I have read all the James Patterson books that it is based on. I will have to update this show once it's been on.

Sunday:
Desperate Housewives, I can't imagine living on Wisteria Lane. I certainly wouldn't fit in. I am not a fan of the Gabby/Carlos/Edie triangle. I am however, intrigued with the new neighbor. I also love that Susan is pregnant and that Felicity Huffman's character (I can't remember her name) has cancer. It shows that they aren't perfect.

Brothers & Sisters, This is probably one of the best shows on. I love Sally Field and I get so emotional and into the stories. I am just glad that Justin is not dead, that freaked me out.

In addition to all these shows, I also tape daily:

The View, I didn't think that I would like it with Whoopi on. I love Sherri Shephard though so she has kept me watching. I love their views and look forward to Hot Topics every day.

Rachael Ray, I like watching the cooking segments, and typically fast forward through the rest of the show.

Oprah, Sometimes it's good, sometimes not so good. I just watch the episodes that interest me and the others I don't .

Dr. Phil, I am not to kean on the new Dr. Phil Now idea. But again I watch some and not others.

Weekend

Well, the weekend was crazy busy. Well, Saturday was crazy busy. We got up and were out of the house by 9 a.m. I was off to the CF Moms of Twins Sale. Ryan was off to the Natatorium, because Troy was in a Health Fair, where they paraded in. I got some great stuff at the sale, and then I headed to the Nat to meet up with Ryan and Addie.

Then, we went shopping, we went to Office Max, Toys R' Us (where I found some more great deals on clothes they were 50% off the clearance price)(we also bought Addie another Halloween costume, a cow, I am going to dress up as a Farmer, I think it will be cute), Staples and by this time, Addie was in a major melt down, so we grabbed lunch and headed home.

Ryan and his mom went to Troy's football game while Addie and I were at home, her napping and me vegging watching the Ball State football game. Once Addie woke up we went back to the football field to see Tyler play, it was his last game and since they played the fourth graders on steroids from St. Hillary's, they didn't do to hot. Although Tyler had some good plays.

When we got home, we rushed around cleaning up the house, since Kim and Jonathan were coming over. They got there and we went up to the Oktoberfest. We had a good time. We ate some good food, and then watched a band play. They were called New Wave Nation. They were an 80's cover band and they sounded pretty good.

We got home around 9:30 p.m. and watched the Ohio State game. Then to bed.

We got up on Sunday and we were planning on going on a bike ride. Well we got there and the wheels on Addie's trailer were busted, so we went to Wal-Mart and bought new inner tubes and then went up to the Towpath in Peninsula and rode about 6 miles. It was a lot of fun and Addie had a great time. We then went home and watched the Browns lose, then the Indians lose.
Not a good day for Cleveland sports!

Well I am off for now, Addie is ready to start walking on her own. She even said Good Night Daddy when she went up to bed last night. Such a ham!

Random

We met Megan and Brady at Olive Garden for lunch yesterday. It was nice to see them again and it's always good to get together with other adults on your day off when all you have is a one year old to talk to.

Brady and Addison were so cute, they were flirting with each other from across the table and then they kissed each other before we left.

Addison got way off schedule because she fell asleep on our way home and then she had pooped, so I had to change her diaper before I put her down, so I did that and she woke up, and didn't go back to sleep for over an hour.

On Wednesday, we went to get our glasses, just in case Ryan switches jobs we have maximized our insurance with GE. Here's a picture of Addie in glasses, it's inevitable that she will be wearing glasses someday since we are both pretty blind, but I thought this was adorable.
Well, gotta go get Addie, we have a fun weekend, so I will take some pics and post them on Monday.
